About Heber Valley Historic Railroad
The Heber Valley Railroad is Utah's magnificent diesel/steam passenger railroad. Trains on this historic tourist attraction cross the farmlands of the Heber Valley, follow the shore of Deer Creek Lake, and descend into a breathtaking canyon. The track follows the Provo River to Vivian Park in Provo Canyon.
Rides on this railroad take you back to a time when life was lived at a much slower pace. It is a great way to show kids the beauty of the countryside while letting them experience a real train ride. Rides vary in length, from 25 minutes to three hours, depending on the chosen excursion. The railroad offers special event rides around Halloween and Christmas.
Make reservations in advance online or by phone. A complete schedule of available rides can be found on the Heber Valley Railroad's website. Kids ages two and under ride free on a parent's lap.

- We have had nothing but great experiences on the toddler-friendly rides we've taken, specifically, Day out with Thomas and Polar Express. I've also ridden the non-theme rides, and they are more about sightseeing and less about entertaining children, so I'd recommend doing those rides sans kids so you can take it all in.
