About Herbst Theatre

A beautiful old theater built in the 1930's and restored in 1978, the Herbst Theatre holds just under 1,000 seats and hosts a variety of performances, from City Arts & Lectures, to dance recitals and concerts. For general information (not tickets) call 415.621.6600.

Getting There

Cross street is McAllister. Garages dot the Hayes Valley area so parking isn't hard to find if you're willing to pay for it. Buses 5 Fulton, 21 Hayes, 47 Van Ness, 49 Van Ness-Mission. Muni metro; get off at the Van Ness station. BART to Civic Center Station.
