The 550-seat Boulder Theatre once served as Boulder City's only movie house. Built in 1931, for years it was the city's only air-conditioned building. The theater is lsited on the National Register of Historic Places.
In 1999, Boulder City resident actor/musician Desi Arnaz, Jr. and his wife Amy, purchased the facility and began an extensive restoration project. It is now used as a live performing arts center, primarily for use by the Boulder City Ballet Company.
