Homestead Air Reserve Park, originally part of the Air Force Base, is home to Ribfest, Miami-Dade Park & Recreation's annual three-day barbecue festival and cook-off which features concerts by well-known national music groups, family activities and plenty of food. This 213-acre largely undeveloped park will soon have a new field center, soccer fields, a restroom building and two parking lots by the year 2008 as part of its first phase of development.
