about Honolulu Zoo:

The Honolulu Zoo includes a Children's Zoo, African and tropical habitats, concession stands and a gift store, an open lawn area (feeding the animals is forbidden, but picnics are allowed), and more. A Wednesday evening summer music series is a great option for low-cost family entertainment. Educational offerings are varied and include evening animal and astronomy tours, overnights (pitch a tent on the lawn or sleep under the stars!), Junior (ages 11 and up) and Keiki (ages six to 10) zookeeper classes, summer and school break camps, and themed parent-child programs. Birthday parties can be booked for weekend mornings or afternoons, and include cake, ice cream, and activities. Inexpensive family memberships are available and provide free admission for one year, as well as discounts and reciprocity privileges.

tips:

Play animal games at home before a visit to the zoo!

getting there:

Located between Diamond Head and Waikiki, at the corner of Kalakaua Boulevard. Park in the zoo lot for $0.25/hour; the lot across the street on Monsarrat is free.
