Horizon Science Academy - Denison is a community charter school, with approximately 420 students attending fifth through eighth grades. Horizon Science Academy's core curriculum forcuses on mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts.

This school has a great academic schedule for students. Teachers know what they are doing. Administration is very determined to be a good school and working very hard. They are tough on discipline. This school is not good for those students who want to fool around.

In the second year, school is rated as 'Continuous Improvement'. They are shooting for being an 'effective' school this year. I have full belief in the school. They are really working too hard to make it happen. I am fully satisfied with the education my child is getting and the afterschool activities there

My daughter is an 8th grader there. She is doing science project this year first time ever. I recenlty attended their PTO meeting and craft bazaar. They were great. My daughter's teachers visited us last week. We will have a parent teacher conference at school soon. As a parent, I have never felt this much valued. All these are some stuff that you don't see at public school. I am very happy about Horizon Denison.

I checked the other comments. I don't care what others say. My son is learning there. Staff is very qualified and administration is very friendly. Each year they are doing better.

The administrators are unqualified and uncertified. Check the ODE site. Several teachers do not speak English well.Public school would be a better alternative.

It's a school of choice for both parents and teachers. They offer free lunch now. Saturday school and after school tutoring are not available at every school for free.

My daughter is a fifth grader at HSA-Denison. Having had my daughter in both public and private school, HSA is by far the best school yet she has attended. The school is very diversve,challenging and in my opinion a great school. As far as a lunch program goes, no there isn't one, but is that really what we look for when choosing a school for our children ????

You might simply do this: go to Ohio Department of Education website and look under educator information (http://webapp2.ode.state.oh.us/core/educator_informatio n/), and type in the names of the administrators. See for yourself. Teachers have what it takes, but can do little with these administrators.

Need allot of work very unorganized do not have lunch programs need lots of work done . My rating is Very poor. i would not recommend this school for any kids.
