What the Brown Palace is to Denver in term of historic importance, the Hotel Boulderado is to its namesake city.
The hotel was one of the first Boulder hotels. It opened in 1909; its name comes from the words "Boulder" and "Colorado" so that no guest would forget where he or she had stayed. It is now a National Register Landmark and is a member of the National Trust's Historic Hotels of America.
Even if you're not a guest at the hotel, it's worth peeking inside to catch a glimpse of the elegant Victorian-style lobby and soaring stained-glass atrium.
