The winner of our Parents' Picks Awards for best theater group for kids in Houston in 2009 and 2010, and best artsy class for teens in 2008, the Houston Family Arts Center strives to provide productions of affordable, high-quality entertainment. Children are frequently included in the casts, and open auditions are held throughout the year. Select performances are held at the Berry Center.

The Family Arts Center also offers acting classes and summer camps for children and teens.

Houston Family Arts Center (HFAC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, founded in November 2005 to provide a fun outlet for creative community involvement through the production of high-quality, family-friendly, affordable entertainment. Each year, HFAC produces family-friendly musicals, comedies, and dramas. The HFAC Actors Academy provides numerous acting, singing and dance classes and performance opportunities for children, teens, and adults. HFAC is conveniently located in NW Houston at 10760 Grant Road. From I-45 take the Sam Houston Tollway East exit SH 249 North, exit Grant Road (one exit north of FM 1960) and turn left. HFAC is located 1.4 miles on the right in the Grant Balcrest Center. From 290 exit Jones Road and turn right on Grant Road. HFAC is located .25 miles on the left in the Grant Balcrest Center

The classes and shows are high quality with a family-friendly atmosphere. My children have learned so much from HFAC while being nurtured and cherished as individuals. The teachers, directors and volunteers are very professional, accomodating and allow all to feel welcome and respected.

Performances are top of the line, and get better and better as the years have gone by. Les Miserables, Seussical, and the rest of the many musicals put on by HFAC have been considered as good as broadway and some say that they are better. I have nothing but good things to say about this theater.

Although right now the location is shifting around some, the people who make up HFAC are friendly, caring and fun. The productions are top-notch and a fun outing for a family. My family and I love it there and have made numerous friends and memories.
