About Houston Family Arts Center

The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best artsy class for teens in Houston, and our 2009 Parents' Picks award for Best Theatre Group for Kids in the Houston area, the Houston Family Arts Center strives to provide productions of affordable, high-quality entertainment. Children are frequently included in the casts, and open auditions are held throughout the year. Select performances are held at the Berry Center.

The Family Arts Center also offers acting classes and summer camps for children and teens.

Top notch leadership and talent, family values- a wonderful addition to northwest Houston!! The shows are comparable to professional shows that we've seen at the Hobby Center!!

Performances are top of the line, and get better and better as the years have gone by. Les Miserables, Seussical, and the rest of the many musicals put on by HFAC have been considered as good as broadway and some say that they are better. I have nothing but good things to say about this theater.

HFAC produces top-notch entertainment and chooses uplifting shows, while not overwhelming cast members and their families. Overheard after Penzance: "I wasn't sure what to expect, since our last community theater experience was awful - but this was GREAT!"

She loves to see musicals but I hate paying big bucks and driving downtown. This way we get inexpensive (and good) seats , don't have to drive far and the shows are REALLY good. Loved Suessical...have tickets for Pirates!

We are so impressed with the quality of these shows-talented casts, great entertainment choices for families. All the fun and excitement of live theatre downtown, without the "downtown" prices or parking hassles.

Although right now the location is shifting around some, the people who make up HFAC are friendly, caring and fun. The productions are top-notch and a fun outing for a family. My family and I love it there and have made numerous friends and memories.

All three of our children (& Dad) have participated in a show together, with their varied abilities. Summer workshops were fun and educational. One son has been in two other shows to date. We have LOVED the shows HFAC has produced!

My family has enjoyed all of the shows we have seen at HFAC, and my daughter has loved the workshops she attended the last 2 summers. She auditioned for 1 show, and even though she was not chosen, she enjoyed the audition process at HFAC and was eager to see the show. This is a great place for learning and entertainment.

I have been very impressed with the work done by HFAC. The shows are top-notch, professional and affordable. As a parent of a cast member in past productions, I appreciate the emphasis on family values demonstrated by the production staff. It has been a great experience.

I had an incredible time working with the cast and crew [of Give My Regards to Broadway]! The director was loyal and patient, the cast great to be around, and an overall awesome experience! I look foward to auditioning for more of their amazing plays!

I really appreciate the opportunity this theatre is presenting the community at large. We are very grateful for their family values, as this is often a problem in theatre. I was totally impressed and enjoyed the show tremendously. Great talents in the show and behind the scene! I am looking forward to their next event. So nice not to have to drive an hour for quality theatre!
