HYFL strives to teach attributes such as sportsmanship, hardwork, and teamwork, along with the fundamentals of football in a safe and encouraging environment. The HYFL program utilizes the attendance zones of elementary and junior high schools within Katy ISD and Ft. Bend ISD. Students in grades K through 6 have the opportunity to participate on school-based squads as players or cheerleaders. In April and May, HYFL runs its seven-on-seven spring season, which involves all passing and one-hand touch (no tackling). Also, HYFL holds a tournament called the HYFL Christmas Classic on the second weekend in December.
