The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. In addition to providing care and shelter to homeless animals, the group works to provide information on proper animal care to the public. In addition to monetary donations, the organization welcomes animal companions who can interact with sheltered animals to help reduce their stress and prepare them for adoption. The preferred age for volunteers is 12 and older. All volunteers must attend an orientation and animal handling class - offered the second Saturday of each month - before volunteering.
