A 17-story hotel located on the waterfront in the 8-block Embarcadero Center, the Hyatt generally caters to business people because of its convenient downtown location. But it can be a comfortable, convenient place for families to stay as well. It has 805 newly renovated rooms, some of which offer spectacular views of the Bay; all forms of public transportion stop outside its door; and it's just blocks from Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, and Chinatown. No special perks for families. The Hyatt Camp offered in other hotel locations isn't available here. But babysitting can be arranged through the hotel, children can room in for free, and a second room can be had for half the price of the first. Best of all, kids have easy access to the city's only revolving restaurant, which offers some of the best views in town.
