If you're looking to visit LA in style, consider
The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The hotel is primarily a destination for business travelers during the week, but on weekends, it is a popular choice for families traveling with kids.
All 726 guest rooms and suites offer private balconies and luxurious marble baths. After a major renovation in July, 2006, rooms are decorated in neutral tones with ebony and sage accents, and include Hyatt "Grand Beds," granite countertops and desktops, textured window coverings, and oversized flat-screen LCD TVs.
The highlight of a stay at the hotel is definitely the outdoor pool area. In addition to the large main pool and an adjacent jacuzzi, for little ones there are
four wading pools, each with no more than a foot of shallow water. The pool area contains plenty of benches, as well as several cabanas.
Other hotel amenities include 24-hour room service, the award-winning
Equinox Fitness Club & Spa, Breeze and X bar restaurants, the Lobby Court bar and lounge, and a
Starbucks coffee bar and Sundry Shop.
The high-end
Breeze restaurant now has a kid's menu, with lots of great (and inexpensive) items such as hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and burgers. Kids are given cute plastic silverware, and high chairs are available.
All rooms include color TV with premium movie channels, individual climate control,
i-Pod docking station, three phones, deluxe bath amenities, oversized bath towels, private bar, and wall vault.
The hotel is right across the street from the
Westfield Century City shopping mall.
Looking for a dose of Broadway in LA? In addition to the eighteen movie theaters surrounding the hotel, guests are nearby to the
The Ahmanson Theatre and the
Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. The concierge desk will gladly book tickets and tours for you.
