Connected to Milwaukee's
Marcus Center for the Performing Arts by a walkway, the
InterContinental Hotel is
ideally located for visiting families. In addition to the Marcus Center itself, several other shopping spots and restaurants are also within just a few blocks, including the
Betty Brinn Children's Museum, the
Milwaukee Public Museum, and the
Milwaukee Theater.
Kid-friendly amenities include on-demand video games and movies in all rooms, plus roll-away beds and
cribs available on request. The staff is very accommodating and professional, and the majority of hotel employees have been trained in the Ambassador program, which means even the wait staff, bellhops, and housekeepers are likely to be able to offer advice on where to go and what to see around town.
Other standard room features include coffee makers,
wireless and high-speed internet connections, and iPod docking stations on the clock radios. Suites include a separate sitting room with a couch and dining table, with refrigerators available in some suites (or for a $25 fee where not a standard feature). Rooms feature contemporary decor, with comfortable furniture.
The beds are comfortable yet firm, with a generous helping of pillows and blankets. King suites can be reserved with an adjoining double room for larger families. There is no children?s menu available via room service, but the offerings do include a fair share of smaller-portioned meals for a reasonable price.
The hotel also has a business center, fitness room, gift shop, a lounge (where families can snack on sandwiches nearly 24 hours a day), and an art gallery with a regularly changing array.
