Organized in 1947 by the Salt Lake City Council of Women, the
International Peace Gardens is designed to honor different cultures and encourage peace among nations. Twenty-six countries and fourteen nations are represented, marked by garden plots, flags, sculptures, and plaques.
The
gardens are a perfect place for picnics, photo-ops, and just relaxing with a good book. The whole family can enjoy a peaceful day in the gardens, and then explore the surrounding
Jordan Park, as well as the
Jordan River Parkway along the west side of the gardens.
