What a great place!Operation Spy wasn't something that I thought that I would like. Boy was I wrong! TOTALLY WRONG! It brought out the "James Bond" in all of us.We would do it all over again in a heartbeat. The staff throughout the entire museum was quite knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly. We would recommend this to everyone (except those families that would need the use of a stroller than we would recommend coming back in a few years)

This is great for anyone...not just kids!

Great museum for older children.

Our family includes a 14-month old, a toddler who can take a few steps but not necessarily in the right direction or at the right time. He's long since outgrown his infant carrier, and as he's over the 25-pound mark, carrying him on my back is a recipe for misery. Like most tots, he's pretty fast on his knees and likes to climb. In order to feel comfortable taking him through a busy museum, a stroller is the only option. But the Spy Museum bans all strollers, regardless of size or the child's age. The only explanation for the ban in a new facility that is fully ADA-accessible? I was politely informed that in the chance they had to evacuate, another patron might trip over my abandoned stroller. (A quick Google search turns up a mere five mentions of museum evacations since 2000, and references no injuries due to tripping.) I was also told that while a wheelchair user had no choice, I did. This indicates that no one with any decision-making authority at the ISM has ever been responsible for parenting an active toddler. In a city that attracts countless visiting families, with a subject that appeals to parents and kids alike and a collection that doesn't face the preservation challenges of, say, a historic house where a stroller might be a legitimate threat, this is truly surprising. We're giving ISM a miss unless it changes this policy - permanently.
