Founded in 1972, the
Irish Arts Center's mission is to promote an awareness of Irish arts and culture.
Programs for kids at the Center include lessons in
Irish language, music, and step dancing. Parents of very little ones can sign up for
Keltic Kids, a preschool music workshop.
Children ages three to ten can sign up for
Gaelic Kids on a rolling enrollment basis. The Saturday program, split into two age groups, offers kids the opportunity to learn words, phrases, and songs in the Irish language.
Niall O'Leary,
Irish Arts Center's resident children's dance teacher, offers a Monday afternoon class in traditional Irish dancing. Beginner and intermediate level classes are open to children over age five.
