about Irvine Regional Park:

Irvine Regional Park, nestled in a grove of Heritage Oak and Sycamore trees, houses a variety of wildlife.

Santiago Creek divides the park, and a pond with stone-work waterfall and foot bridge is at its center. Pony rides, paddle boats, bike rentals, train rides, and the Orange County Zoo make the park popular with local families.

The Irvine Park Railroad is open daily from 10am-4pm, and offers rides for $4. Call 714.997.3968 for more information.

tips:

Call ahead or check the park's website before heading over for the train in questionable weather. Muddy conditions often cause the ride to close down for the day.

getting there:

Irvine Regional Park is located in Santiago Canyon, six miles east of the City of Orange. To reach the park, take the Newport Freeway to the Chapman Avenue East offramp. Head east on Chapman for approximately five miles. Turn left on Jamboree for a quarter of a mile to the park entrance.
