about Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando:

Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando caters to the dare-devils in your family, with some fun areas for smaller kids.

Islands of Adventure, as the name would suggest, is made up of five "islands" - Marvel SuperHero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, Seuss Landing, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Because the most popular attractions are scattered throughout the park, you may find yourself running from one end to the other to hit the coasters first.

Many coasters have height restrictions, which can be disappointing for little ones, but take them over to Seuss Landing for fun that's "just their size." It's based on the beloved author's best-loved book, and features a crazy spin through the story of The Cat in the Hat. For the coolest merry-go-round, try the Caro-Suess-el, on which characters' heads move and eyes blink.

Other fun kids' areas include Me Ship, The Olive in Toon Lagoon, a three story play area with plenty of fun activities, and Camp Jurassic, complete with "mines" and climbing nets.

Islands of Adventure offers some of the best heart-stopping rides in Orlando. The Incredible Hulk Coaster in Marvel SuperHero Island, a bright green coaster launches you from zero to 40 mph in two seconds flat. And The Amazing Adventures of Spider-man, a 3-D movie and simulator makes you feel like you're actually swinging alongside Spidey.

The park also has fun water rides, including Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls and the Jurassic Park River Adventure.

There are plenty of dining options, though most of them are fast-food in nature. Try Wimpy's for a good burger, or Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous for pizza, kids' meals, and ice cream.

Wait until the end of the day to shop (souvenir opportunities naturally abound), since many of the rides require that you store your belongings in lockers before riding.

Restrooms with changing facilities are located throughout the park and you'll find Nursing Facilities and Companion Restrooms near the front of the park, next to First Aid. You can also pick up a rental stroller at the front of the park.

tips:

If you're spending the entire day at one or more Universal parks and have a family of hearty eaters, we recommend the Universal Meal Deal, which gives you unlimited food for one price. The ticket is only good at select restaurants, but the cost of lunch, dinner, and a snack or two can far surpass the amount you'll pay. A Meal Deal Souvenir Cup - which allows for unlimited soft drink refills - is also available.
