Jazz at Lincoln Center is dedicated to inspiring and growing audiences for jazz. Performances by the world-renowned
Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, often include JALC Artistic Director
Wynton Marsalis, and a comprehensive array of guest artists.
In addition to terrific
Jazz for Young People concerts and programs,
Jazz at Lincoln Center produces classes for preschoolers (ages eight months to five years) and their parents or caregivers.
The
WeBop! program gives little ones an opportunity to move and play with the soulful rhythms and melodies of great jazz. WeBop! teachers lead children to a greater understanding of jazz, of their national musical heritage, and, ultimately, of themselves. Produced in collaboration with Teachers College, Columbia University, the four terms of classes each run eight weeks, and take place on Tuesdays Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the Louis Armstrong Classroom. Advance registration is required. For more information including a schedule call 212.258.9835 or email
webop@jalc.org.
Frederick P. Rose Hall is the cultural centerpiece of the
Time Warner Center, developed specifically for the acoustics of jazz.
