Like the uptown Jekyll and Hyde Club (formerly affiliated, but now a separate entity), this Greenwich Village "eatery" (we use the term loosely, because the food is SO not the point) makes every effort to entertain the horror fan/intrepid explorer.

And, between screams, the kids might actually eat the Create-Your-Own-Monster burgers, Frankenstein's Favorite (topped with cheese, mushrooms, onions and bacon), or The Mummy (sirloin bandaged in your choice of cheese).

The Kids' Menu (including soft drink) offers plain pizza, chicken fingers, grilled cheese, PB&J, or penne pasta with sauce or butter. Fries are extra (potato chips are served by default).

The food, as might be expected, is not very good and often arrives cold; the continuous show is funny and not too scary. The dining area is small, making service spotty. The animatronic wall devices are a bit loud, but well done.

Booster seats, but not highchairs, are available.

Finding the bathroom might be the most fun you'll have all day. See how long it takes the kids to find the secret passages in the library.

I have been here before & it was always wonderful but this last Sun night, I brought my two little girls in and they were spoiled!! Eric and the staff gave them so much attention (while spoiling all the other customers too!)..they had a tour upstairs and down, met the characters running around and drank their Shirley Temples! My girls said that this was the BEST part of our trip to NYC (it even beat American Girl, all the shopping, other restaurants, museums--everything to them!!)...I had no idea that they would love it so much but I think the wildly excellent service was what pushed them over the top! The theme and decor is excellent too..I completely recommend this place esp if Eric is around--you will LOVE it! Bring your family! We will go now every time...<3

After making a reservation and stating we were there for a Birthday, we waited over 1 hour to be served barely warm food. The 'show' was boring and the staff unattentive. Unless you plan on drinking a lot don't waste your time!

It was very fun, it even had me scared from time to time. The decorations were amazing and the shows were great! The food was a little expensinve but it was good and we had great service.

The restaurant was crowded (we reserved in advance, thank goodness), but that's no excuse for the food we were served - cold burger and fries (for which we were charged an additional $1.50 - burgers "come with" potato chips!); a chicken Cesar salad that tasted like it was prepared last week, with old, rubbery chicken and slimy lettuce; and some kid's meal chicken fingers that were much too spicy for young taste buds. Our waitress was rude, spilled Pepsi on our coats, took 1/2 an hour to deliver water (and another 15 minutes to bring the drinks we'd be charged for - brought them just as we were leaving, in fact!) We arrived at 5:20pm on a Sunday, were finally served our meal at 6:20pm, and got our drinks at 6:30pm. The manager, when informed of our experience, asked US what she should do. Sheesh.

Meal was good; the maid, Anemia, gave us some great riddles to solve and I loved the singing "monsters" but the place looked to be getting old and the extra dark lighting made me feel they were hiding the dust. Great place for people who love funny Halloween decor.
