A one-off, privately owned toy store in Brentwood (formerly on Montana Avenue), JennyBec's has a great selection of well made toys and furniture for babies and children.

The store carries some small toys and crafts for under $10, as well as a large selection of more expensive items including an array of costumes, loads of puppets, educational toys, musical instruments, games, Thomas the Tank accessories, and a great book section. Many of JennyBec's toys are slightly off the beaten path - not Toys R Us-type inventory at all. And several of those fun, simple items from our childhood that we'd love to find again are available here; think Colorforms.

There are some clothes (mostly T-shirts), including a selection of Roobeez shoes. The furniture is high-end: beautiful and well-made, but not inexpensive.

JennyBec's is a great place to set up a baby shower registry; the store has beautiful linens, diaper bags, and layettes, and the complimentary gift wrap is very attractive. Jenny also offers a personal shopper service; one of her friendly staff is happy to take notes on price range and interests, then have the birthday or shower gift wrapped and ready to go out the door by the time you arrive.
