The Jewish Community Center (JCC) serves both the Jewish and general community with a diverse collection of programs and events. It runs numerous sport and recreation programs and has a large roster of classes and camps in art, dance, music, theater, and more.
The JCC of Greater Kansas City first opened in 1917 and has moved to several facilities through the years. Its current facility is in southern Johnson County. The facility includes a school of dance, a fitness facility that features a Youth Fitness Zone for members ages six through 14, and a Child Development Center, providing early childhood education for 12-month-olds through pre-kindergartners.
Summer camps at the center include the Barney Goodman Camp - a traditional camping experience for kids in grades 1-6 - Sports Camp (grades 1-6), Theatre Camp (grades 3-8), Dance Camp (grades 3-6), CDC Camp (ages 2-6), and Art Camp (grades 3-6).
