Operated by the
Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, the newish quarry-themed
Lupient Water Park features
three large water slides and a tube slide, a log walk, water volleyball, interactive sprayers,
lap swimming lanes, a zero-depth entry in the main pool, and a separate spray pool for littler kids. Out of the water, amenities include
colorful shade structures, concessions, a grassy sun-bathing area, and outside showers and lockers.
Swimming lessons: Parent/child classes are offered throughout the summer for kids ages one to four, and also regular lessons for kids ages three and up. A typical
two-week session of 45-minute lessons (Mon-Thu) costs $40 for Minneapolis residents, $55 for non-residents; online registration is available.
Parties: For $95, get admission for up to 15 people and use of a covered shelter. Rent a shelter only for $25/day, or the entire facility for $300/hour (outside of regular operating hours).
Passes: $66/individual; $122/two people; $30/each additional family member.
Specials are offered in the weeks before the park opens for the season; check the website for details. Ten-admission lap swimming punch cards cost $15.
