Mill Grove is the first home of John James Audubon in America and the only true Audubon home still standing in this country. The museum, located in the historic home (which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places), contains the complete editions of every major work published by Audubon including the famous Birds of America.
Over 175 species of birds and over 400 species of plants have been identified at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, a bird sanctuary featuring five miles of marked walking trails. Various events are held throughout the year, including bird, flower, and night walks, and informational programs.
