Cheap, small, noisy, and definitely not low-cal, Juanita's Taco Shop is an Encinitas favorite. Frequented by a mostly beach-going crowd, the food is simple and tasty. We like particularly like its easy access to the beach and the "Orange Bang," an orange-colored drink that tastes a little like a creamsicle. Needless to say, kids love it. Juanita's is mostly a take-out place although you're welcome to sit in the three small interior booths or the semi-enclosed, slightly rustic eating area. The atmosphere is no-frills, but with hungry, sandy kids, why would you care? Worth trying: The 3-rolled made-to-order tacos, the Veggie Burrito, and the bean and cheese burrito. Fish tacos and the Carne Asada are also good.
