The Kutandara Center is a community-based music school that offers opportunities to learn about, celebrate, and play music from Africa. The center hosts guest musicians from around the world and sponsors workshops and events that celebrate music, culture, and community.
The Kutandara Center offers instruction for all ages in Zimbabwean-style marimba, African drumming, mbira (a traditional Shona instrument), traditional African songs and chiShona, the language of the Shona peoples.
Kamp Kutandara is a cross-cultural program providing kids an age-approriate, hands-on experience exploring a wide range of music, dance, and art from Africa in a day camp setting. Kids play and learn by ear and build their musical confidence on all levels.
