Katherine Michiels School (KMS) offers infant care, a preschool program, and an elementary program.
The KMS Peach Program provides care for children between the ages of three months to 24 months. Children can play on their own and in groups, within a supervised environment. The infant area includes a working kitchen, carpeted play area, nap room, potty training station, outdoor play area, and many age-appropriate toys and books.
The KMS Pumpkin Program offers two-to-four year olds learning stations for free-choice play, meals, snacks, and circle time. Teachers guide and support children through the process of deciding where to go and how long to stay at the various learning stations.
KMS also offers an alternative elementary program with a creative curriculum where art, music, dance, cooking, Spanish, outdoor education, and project-based learning are emphasized. The small class size insures individualized attention that is effective for all students including students with dyslexia or learning style differences. There is a Slingerland trained teacher on staff who is also available for individual tutoring.
