My daughter has been to Kathi's Summerfoto camp twice and wants to go again this year. Kathi is an excellent teacher who inspires kids to create gorgeous photography in an easygoing, fun setting. Great value.

My kids really enjoyed this camp and are looking forward to doing it again next year. Not only do they get to use the camera, which all kids love to do, but they learn techniques to take photographs. Kathi's input is great. The groups are small. My only issue is that for the working parent, it is difficult as it is only a half day camp with no option of care later in the day. Maybe now that it is at San Francisco Day school, maybe something could be worked out?????

My teen-age son and his out-of-town cousins (11 and 13) loved her week-long summer photography program. My son even very happily did it again the following summer. She adapts her program and her style to the kids, helping them find their "style" through experimentation. She teaches how to see, gives the kids indoor and outdoor techniques, thematic field trips, creates good group atmosphere, provides them with the proud exerience of achieving something, culminating in an impressive album of their own work. Plus they get around the City and see it in new ways.

Kathi O'Leary has done portrait photography of our daughters since 1996. She offers that great combination of professionalism, creativity and fun. Kathi has always been willing to go with our pre-conceived ideas of what kinds of portraits we'd like to have (casual, formal, indoor, outdoor, color, B&W, etc). As well, she has offered invaluable wisdom in refining or improving upon our list, although she is careful to not impose her ideas on us (we just happen to like her ideas at all times!). Also, Kathi has such an eye for detail -- the placement of one's hands, the positioning of one's shoulders -- the small details that make the enormous difference in the final product. Kathi is professional, flexible, and very easy to work with. Her range of styles covers the board; she gets to know her clients and their wishes before the shoot ever begins. Customer satisfaction is her priority. Our daughters (now pre-teens) look forward every year to their photo-shooting sessions with Kathi. The most challenging aspect for us is making the selection of prints from the proof CD (or proof page). Because her batting average is so high, there are always too many "good ones" from which to choose! We're fortunate to have that kind of challenge -- the only one we have with Kathi O'Leary Photography. Needless to say, we highly recommend her services.
