The
Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center offers a fitness/cardio room, aerobics classes, yoga, tennis (lessons and leagues on nine lighted outdoor courts), a gymnasium for basketball or volleyball, Becky's School of Dance (classes in hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, cheer, partner classes, and advanced performance teams), karate classes, weight management classes, a steam room, hot tubs, and a sauna room.
Some special offerings for kids include an outdoor kids recreation/splash pool, an outdoor kids playground, the
Kids Club, which keeps kids active when school is out, an
Up With Kids program, which teaches theatrical arts, and scout merit badge sessions.
The
Summer Teen Club helps teens make new friends and stay active throughout the summer. The three-week sessions are offered several times throughout the summer at a cost of $50 per person. Sessions are offered early June through late August. Call to sign up. The center's Kids' Club offers
activities for children during off-track times of the school year.
At the
indoor and outdoor pools, offerings include open plunge, water aerobics,
swim lessons, Moms in Motions (a class for pregnant women), water polo, lap swimming, Red Cross training, and swim teams. The website has a complete list of offerings and prices.
Members of the
Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center can skate for free during public skate sessions at the
Utah Olympic Oval. The Olympic Oval is located directly adjacent to the Fitness Center, west of the outdoor pools. See the website for details.
Birthday parties are available at the fitness center for groups of any size. Prices vary; expect to pay from about $5/hour to $50/hour depending on the room/area chosen for the party. Childcare: A licensed childcare program is available on-site for children up to age eight. Parents must be at the fitness center to take advantage of the program. Call ahead (801.966.5555 ex 227) to reserve a spot for children under the age of two. Reservations are also recommended for all children from the hours of 9am to 11am due to high demand during that time of day. The fee is $1.50/hour, and there is a two hour limit. The child care hours are Mon-Thu 8:30am-1pm & 4pm-8pm, Fri 8:30am-1pm & 4pm-6:30pm, and Sat 8:30am-12n.
