The
Kent State University hockey team plays on the ice at the campus arena, and the rink also offers
public skating sessions, lessons, and party rentals.
Learn-to-Skate programs begin for children at age four. Children ages five and up may enroll in the Basic Skills Programs. Classes meet once a week for one half hour, and skaters are placed according to age and ability level. The arena also offers hockey instruction and advanced programs, including freestyle and bridge.
The
snack bar, open during the regularly scheduled skating sessions and hockey games, offers an assortment of hot and cold snacks - including the wildly popular Dippin' Dots - and beverages. University policy prohibits bringing outside food and beverages into the Ice Arena - except for birthday parties.
Children's birthday parties are popular at the rink, which has a party room where guests can enjoy pizza, pop, and cake. Call ahead to discuss party options and to book a date.
