about Kerry Park:

When the networks come to Seattle and want to film the definitive Seattle view, they come here.

Kerry Park offers spectacular views - dominated by the Space Needle in the foreground - of downtown Seattle, as well as of Elliot Bay, West Seattle, and the distant Olympic Peninsula. This narrow park, set in a residential area of million-dollar houses, invites contemplation with well-tended grass, flowers, and lots of benches.

If the kids have had too much contemplation, they can descend several flights of stairs west of the viewing area to the Bayview-Kinnear Park play area. The play area's wooden play structures are more appropriate for children five and up, since they are high and lack modern safety fittings. The low balance beam with rails, and the tire swing, are suitable for toddlers.

Energy to burn still? You can stroll four blocks to Marshall Viewpoint and Parsons Garden, two other pocket parks with incredible views.

tips:

This park has parking in front, but it can get tight, so be prepared to park on a side street and walk.
