This local burger chain is not quite as good as Red Mill Burgers, but it's still a step above the fast food chains. The first Kidd Valley opened in 1975 and Ivar's purchased the chain in 1989.

The Kidd Valley menu includes several variations on the burger theme, a few chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese and fish sandwiches, and garden burgers. Sides include fries, onion rings, and fried mushrooms. The kids' menu includes a cheeseburger, grilled cheese, or chicken strips with fries, a drink, and a toy for less than $4.

Kidd Valley also offers handmade milk shakes in ten flavors ranging from the standard chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry to the more unusual pineapple, peanut butter, and boysenberry. Some seasonal flavors, like pumpkin, are also offered throughout the year.
