Kids' Halloween Events in Las Vegas352
in Las Vegas, NVabout Kids' Halloween Events in Las Vegas:
It's that time of year again: There's a (relative) chill in the air, the leaves are a-turnin', and kids are jonesing for pumpkins, haunts, and corn maze adventures. Where to head if you're a Las Vegas Valley resident in need of great kids' seasonal and Halloween activities?
The Las Vegas Springs Preserve hosts its annual all-ages, all-in-good-spooky-fun Haunted Harvest, which runs weekends between October 16 and Halloween Day. We'll also be heading to Funtown FrightFest, which offers fun, non-scary activities for the little ones while offering a few spooky attractions for teens and adults. It's held at Boca Park; proceeds benefit the People's Autism Foundation. Galleria at Sunset Mall hosts Halloween Fun Town; it opens October 9.
Ghosts & Goblins of Nevada's Past, held each year at the Clark County Museum is always a good bet: We like the history theme and the great tours of the museum's restored structures.
The annual Glendale Corn Maze is kid-friendly during the day but turns pretty spooky after dark, making it great for teens. It debuts on October 9.
The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre's fall production takes a decidedly seasonal theme this year with The Witches, a play based on the comical children's book by Roald Dahl that follows as a group of witches form a well-connected international organization that aims to destroy children.
The Texas Station Hotel hosts Texas Screams throughout October, an event that combines two creepy haunted houses plus lots of live entertainment. Also in that horrifying vein: Fright Dome, opening October 2, and Monster Mayhem, opening October 9.
The evening of October 23 brings plenty of Halloween fun to many of the city's community centers. Among them, Halloween Spooktacular at Clark Community School; Spooks at Mirabelli at Mirabelli Community Center; and Robison Community School's Halloween Carnival. Pumpkin Carving in the Park also takes place October 23 at Paradise Recreation Center; advance registration is required.
On October 24, most Borders Books around town host the Kids' Halloween Spooktacular; call ahead to double-check if your location is offering it. Also that day, Safe HalloweenFest at East Las Vegas Community Center. On October 29, Doolittle Community School hosts its annual Howling Halloween Carnival.
Finally, on Halloween itself, Safe Street Halloween takes place at Town Square and offers trick-or-treating from merchants and other holiday festivities; in Henderson, a great option for the kids is GhostWalk: Trick-or-Treating at The District.
For pumpkins, try McKee Family Ranch Pumpkin Patch or Gilcrease Orchards, The Farm's Pumpkin Squash Festival, or any of the city's farmer markets.
