Mid-January Kittredge School is a non-sectarian, private, independent, non-discriminatory academic school for girls and boys in kindergarten through eighth grade. The school is committed to providing for its students a strong academic program within a nurturing atmosphere. Its curriculum is designed to help students build a solid foundation and an interest in all subject areas as well as to prepare them for an academic high school experience. Kittredge students integrate academics with their lives by engaging in various extracurricular activities provided by the school and by its active parents Association. Seventh and eighth grade students share in a week-long experience at the Yosemite Institute, participating in the Institute's hands-on science, geography, geology and history program while learning about themselves and others. A formal physical education program five days a week, as well as individual and team sports, emphasize the qualities of sportsmanship and fair play. Further, Kittredge School recognizes the need for creative expression by introducing students to the fine arts and a foreign language. Grades: K-8th
