about La Jolla Ice Town:

The twenty-something year old ice skating rink - formerly called La Jolla Ice Chalet - underwent a complete renovation recently and now looks quite contemporary. A large rink, which can accommodate hundreds of skaters at a time, Ice Town is a popular destination for family outings as well as for birthday parties, figure skating lessons, and ice hockey lessons - and broomball! Located in Westfield University Town Center, its integrated location allows easy access to the mall's food court. There's also an onsite pro shop that sells and rents skating equipment and accessories. Classes: Introductory skating classes begin each month. Private and group figure skating lessons are available, as is hockey. Parties: A birthday package includes room and skate rental, decorations, cake, and skating time. Prices can vary depending on size of group. Skate rental is included in the admission fee.

tips:

Sunday is Family Day - $30 for a family of up to four, including admission and skate rentals. Every Thursday is Cheapskate Night, when admission and skate rental is $6.75 per person.

getting there:

From I-5 exit at La Jolla Village Drive east. Enter the University Town center parking lot nearest to Sear's. The Ice Chalet is in the indoor portion of the center of the mall.
