My son is fortunate to attend LaGuardia High School. As as aspiring actor in the Drama Department, he has gotten the kind of dramatic education that a student would receive in college, Each teacher's personality is reflected in their teaching style and it makes for an interesting creative educational mix. Where else could your child learn juggling, mime, fencing, improvisation and other acting skills and techniques in high school by teachers who have been (and in some cases still are) professional performers? Academically the school is strong as well though just as in any other school, the student will only get out of it what they put into it. If your child has any inclination on a career in ANY of the arts...whether it be dance, art, theatre tech, drama or vocal, this school will only enhance their talent as well as their enjoyment of personal creative expression. I couldn't be happier as a parent that my child is attending this school....even though we both have to get up at 5:30am for him to get there on time!
