Owned and operated by the City of Houston, Lake Houston Park is a lushly forested expanse of nearly 5,000 acres, located about 30 miles north of Houston. The park features camping, hike and bike trails, canoeing, kayaking, and horseback riding, and is also a prime spot for bird watching.
The park's nature center features live reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, plus educational displays and a reference library.
