Lakewood's Heritage Center features a look at 20th century lifestyles. The museum currently has 30,000 preserved artifacts in addition to a festival area and outdoor amphitheatre. Tours and Enrichment Programs are offered for all ages.
The LHC Walking Tour provides an easy way to learn more about local history. Large green metal signs with bright yellow backgrounds are posted throughout the grounds and in Belmar park. The signs include information about park landmarks and Heritage Center buildings, history, and fun facts on topics such as Kountze Lake, Belmar Mansion, Matthews Water Tower, and the Country School.
