about Lambs Farm:

This 70-acre farm in the northern suburbs gives families an opportunity to support a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those with developmental disabilities. The farm serves as a residence and training facility for more than 250 disabled adults, who help run the on-site Aunt Mary's Country Store, where visitors can find made-from-scratch goodies, and the Country Inn Restaurant, which is open for breakfast and lunch.

Other retail attractions at Lambs Farm include the Lambs Thrift Shop, which sells clothing, furniture, books, and toys, and the Pet Shop, featuring puppies, kittens, birds, and lizards (make sure to talk with children about the responsibilities of owning a pet before stopping in).

The Discovery Center gives kids a place to learn about farm animals, and the Farmyard Petting Area is home to ponies, donkeys, chickens, and pigs. Children can ride a carousel, hop on a miniature train, hop in the Cow Bounce House, or play on an 18-hole miniature golf course. Pony Rides are available on weekends through the end of August.
