Lanesfield School continues the tradition of one-room schools in Kansas. A costumed schoolteacher leads tours and conducts 1904-era lessons in the schoolhouse that was built in 1869 and is the only remaining building from the town of Lanesfield, a mail stop on the Santa Fe Trail.
Lanesfield School serves area school groups, but also has a living history program and special events throughout the year for visitors.
