about Leventhal-Sidman JCC (JCC Greater Boston):

The JCC is a non-profit agency dedicated to fostering the continuity of Jewish life by serving as a central gathering place for people of all ages and stages of their Jewish life. The Center is home to the Magic Ark Children's Series, which offers family entertainment throughout the year.

Memberships include access to the Center's facilities, which include a health and fitness wing with a two-level cardio and weights center, indoor pool, air-conditioned full-size gym and children's gym, group exercise classes (from spinning to yoga), outdoor tennis courts, arts and music studios, and much more.

Jazz dance, beginning oil painting, pottery and wheel throwing, private guitar and piano lessons are just some of the visual and performing arts classes available at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC. Children and adults have a wide variety of exciting programs to choose from, including: children's ballet, printmaking with press, Klezmer ensemble, photography, and live figure drop-in classes. A professional faculty in state of the art studios teaches all classes. Students can choose from weekly classes or may enroll in specialized short-term workshops. During the summer, kids can enjoy Kaleidoscope, a Creative Arts and Science summer program for children ages six through 14. Children stretch their imagination and explore their artistic sides with a staff of professional artists and specialists in a stimulating and enriching environment. The camp provides a balanced program of the arts with a healthy dose of sports; indoor and outdoor swim instruction and more.

getting there:

By the MBTA: Take the Green line to Newton Center and then take the Nexus Bus. The bus leaves Newton Center every hour on the half hour from 6:30am to 6:30pm. It takes approximately 20 minutes to get to the JCC. From Newton Center: From Center St. south, take the left fork onto Parker St., just south of Newton Center. When Parker St. ends, take a left onto Dedham St. After passing Charles River Country Club, take a right onto Nahanton St. After passing Winchester St. take a right at first traffic light into the Gosman Jewish Community Campus.
