about Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden:

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers year-round beauty with more than 40 acres of spectacular gardens and the mid-Atlantic's only classically styled Conservatory open to the public. The first stop is the The Visitors Center, which features admissions services, an exhibit gallery, meeting spaces, outdoor terraces, the Garden Shop, and the Garden Café (which has a children's menu). Then step outside into the Central Garden - three acres of progressing garden "rooms" - including (but not limited too!) a healing garden, sunken garden, rose garden, Asian valley and tea house, perrenial garden, island garden, and an absolutely fabulous children's garden.

The children's garden features an international village, a hands-on activity center, a universally accessible leafy overlook and tree house, a water play area for summer refreshment with fountains and jets, an adventure pathway, a farm garden, and parent rest areas where caretakers can relax within view of their children's explorations.

Note: Visitors may bring snacks into the children's garden, but picnicking is not allowed. Numerous children's workshops are held throughout the year, as well as regular, weekly events - such as Families After Five, Goin' on a Bug Hunt!, Jammin', Drop in and Dig!, Green Hour (with stick puppet performances), and Garden Art.

Birthday parties can be held in the garden, too.
