I brought in a group of 10 13-year olds and they had a blast. They sang all their favorites (Taylor Swift, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brother etc.) and we paid extra (worth it!) to bring home a CD of their star-worthy performances.

Limelight is a really a great place for your child's birthday party. You can rent out a room and then your set - let the kids go wild! They have a wonderful song selection and the best part is you can record your child's singing on a CD. I definitely recommend Limelight - it's very kid-friendly, and they really enjoy themselves!

Parents - bring your earplugs and plan on buying the CD recording after you're done. We brought my neice and her friends for her 12th birthday, and they LOVED it! We booked one of the private studios, and the girls sang their (very loud and very cute) renditions of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and every Justin Timberlake song imaginable. They loved singing together and watching each other sing "solos". I can't wait to get the recording of them!

We were really struggling to figure out where to host our 12-yr. old daughter's birthday this year. We always have a big celebration and like to make it special. Of course we can't repeat what her friends have done - so we're constantly on the look-out for the best new thing! A friend of mine who saw Limelite written up in the Globe suggested it because it is right across the park from where we live in Beacon Hill. As it turns out - I would have driven across town for this place. It was exactly what we were looking for. My daughter who loves American Idol thought it was the coolest place. She ended up having a 'rock star' themed party. The girls were a riot! The best part was that they recorded a CD, which was a cute (although not inexpensive) party favor. For the parents that were around - I think we had as much fun as the girls. The manager let me know that the place has an open mic and serves drinks on the weekend - so I may be back- next time without the kids!
