I don't often write reviews but I made a mental note to do so after taking my son for his first hair cut at Little Locks.
We had an amazing experience and my son, who rarely sits still for a second, came away with a gorgeous little hair cut thanks to the many tricks stylist Joy had up her sleeve.
My boy was so captivated by the car he was sitting in that Joy had a good go at the first couple of snips.. When he started to get a little bit wriggly, Joy pulled out some bubbles and blew them which managed to calm him so she could get a few more snips in.. I continued with the bubble blowing as she cut a few more.
Then with a quick flick of the remote, the last few snips were taken care of as we watched the Curious George DVD (my son's favourite).
Joy clearly had a unique way with kids, and she had my son eating out of her hands. We walked away with a great haircut and a lovely experience.
Thanks Little Locks, we'll be back.

They cut my child's ear and he left the salon bleeding :( This place is very shady! The owners are very greedy and double or TRIPLE-book clients to every FIFTEEN minutes--- so that means your little one is only getting a 5 minute haircut if that and then whipped out of the chair. So in 1 hour they are booking at least 8 to 12 kids or babies, and you usually end up waiting a LONG time because they are so greedy that they OVERBOOK! They probably do this so that while you are waiting so long, your kid will wander around their toy store and want you to buy lots of TOYS for them! Also, they are very condescending, rude and snobby here! And, if you pay attention to the reviews, the owners (Melynie Miller, Leslie and Matt Webb) WRITE THEIR OWN REVIEWS (see Melynie M, Leslie W and Matt W) to give themselves a more positive rating to balance out all the bad reviews they get. Also, if that's not bad enough, the stylist here...I think her name is Lareetha...was not taking her time and cut my son on his ear and he was BLEEDING! Ugh! I am so going to the Better Business Bureau with this and filing a complaint with the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology! I have consulted with an attorney and may file a lawsuit for their having cut my son's ear. From now on I will be going to Bambinos like another reviewer mentioned, even though I live in La Jolla. Bambinos has never cut my kids and it is worth the drive.

They've got a great selection of fun toys that kids can not only have fun with, they can learn from too. From dress up to science experiments, this cute shop has so much to offer. Kids can feel like "stars" while they get their haircuts, and the fun atmospher makes it a lot more fun for everyone.

My kids loooooove this place! Who would've believed ones kids would actually be excited to go get their haircut! The stylists are super friendly and really good, they do exactly the cut I ask for and never cut the hair too short (my husband's big pet peeve!). They have a really great selection of toys and hair products, and they are right next door to a great kids clothing store so I can get all my shopping done in one place! Even if your kids don't need a haircut, still take them to Little Locks, they will love it!

My children absolutely adore Little Locks. The walls are adorned with beautiful murals and is packed full of unique toys you can't find anywhere else! Tha salon has fun chairs that are cars and princess throwns. The owner is a doll, I can call her last minute for a B-day gift and she will have something perfect picked out and wrapped up like a gem. I consider this the best kids salon in town, I have even had my hair done there b/c they will also do adults.

This salon is a mother's best friend. The salon offers fantastic activities for children including: cool chairs shaped like trucks and motorcycles, arts and crafts, and live animals. My family loves rabbits and they have a live bunny. Another benefit is that parents can get thier hair cut too. This is a great place for the whole family. Getting a haircut is usually a chore for parents, but at Little Locks Hair Salon, it's an adventure!

It was so inviting, my daughter just walked right in and made herself at home. There are wall to wall murals and tons of toys. I did some birthday present shopping while Katie had her hair washed and cut. It was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly reccomend it to anyone!

Little Locks is an amazing place to take my family for haircuts. Not only do they offer educational toys,and my personal favorite the mercedes seat for kids but the serive is impeccable. Thank you Little Locks!

One of the only places I can take my son where he won't fuss. The wonderful array of toys, kits, and live animals keep him distracted from the business at hand. Go for a haircut but stay to play!

I took my nephew to get a haircut, and they managed to do a good job on the squirmy guy. He loved sitting in the car-shaped chair and had fun playing at the Thomas the Tank table afterwards. I had to practically drag him out of there! We'll be going back....
