Finally, a kids' hair salon in the East Village. Locks 'n' Lads, the winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the Best Haircut for Little Kids in New York City, is affordable and fun, and the owners are considerate and friendly to everyone who walks in the door.

Birthday parties are also available at the salon. Call for more information.

Locks 'n' Lads shares the space with Cotton Bobs, a kids' clothing boutique.

Great place for kids and parents too,colorful and friendly surroundings.Hair cuts for kids are great as the hair stylists are good with children and adults as well.

Went to Locks and Lads on Thursday and got my hair cut and they cut my son's for half price too. hooray. both fab hair cuts and the place rocks!

I have seen Judy around the East Village for quite some time. My husband and I moved upstate about a year ago. We came to visit a while ago and stumbled on Judy's Locks 'n Lads - it is just as warm, creative, honest and fantastic as she is. Our friends had a dance birthday party there last year that the girls are still talking about. Nice to see some integrity - this place is the real deal - check it out!!

the tee and jewelry and accessory selection is so well-edited and adorable! my kids have gotten decent (not brilliant) cuts there. but caveat emptor: several playground moms i know have issues with the pricing on adult cuts; i have now heard three stories about being charged more than the price listed. (apparently the extra charge is for hairwashing, but that's not made clear up front.) check the price before you commit your head!

We took our not-yet 2-year-old son here and the stylist gave him a terrific cut. Owen played with the toys and had his first haircut in a salon. We were very impressed with the staff.

this place is even fun if you dont have any kids! decorated in a gorgeous and fun style, its almost like a piece of installation art! oh yeah, they do a great job on hair, too! :) i love these guys!

We felt welcome from the moment we entered. The large tree, toys, and movies kept everyone entertained. I also felt like we could have had a total meltdown and that would have been ok too. Plus, they sell Smurfs! Two thumbs up.

This place is enchanting! Not only does it have amazing murals on its walls and an enchanted tree in the kid friendly foyer, the staff and haircuts are great!! Lots for your little one to do when he/she has his hair cut. Plus, if moms and dads want their hair done, there are plenty of books, toys, dvds and friendly staff to keep your kids entertained. Cheap too!!
