My son is in his 2nd year and LOVES it there. His teacher is enthusiastic and gifted with the children (and the parents). She plans a wide variety of activities and themes and changes the things she puts out for the kids often, so things are always fresh and exciting for them.
My son can't wait each week for his school days to see what is in store for him. And he never wants to leave when it's time to go home: a sure-fire sign he's having a good time.
I absolutely love being a part of a co-op preschool. It allows parents to be a part of their child's first school experience. I've also been able to learn from other parents, the teacher - and have made some great friends. After looking into co-op preschools, Lollipop Co-op seemed to be the best choice. The teacher is amazing and the facility is larger than most preschools. I am finishing up my last year with my second child at Lollipop and am looking forward to coming back with my third!
We were enrolled in the 4 year olds' program this academic year (there's also a 3 yr prog and a Mom & Tot class). She loves the school and all her new friends and talks about it all the time (a testament in and of itself!). The school helps children foster independence and provides opportunities to explore their creative, cognitive, physical, and social sides, too. The regular program offers manipulatives for fine motor development (needed for writing), daily art projects, games for problem solving, music & movement, and so much more that won't fit here. An optional "Enrichment Program" is offered on Thursday afternoons for the 4 year olds that focuses on kindergarten readiness skills. As a parent, I get to share in the fun because of the co-op aspect. Being there it is evident that the teacher is dedicated to the children and their needs. The kids pick up on it too and bond with her quickly. Lastly, in addition to being a quality program that the kids love, it is extremely affordable, which is critical to today's families.
We like being very involved in our children's lives but recognize that they need to be independent of us at times. Lollipop has a warm welcome feeling and has been a great school for our youngest. It's great to be in the classroom. And I like the sense of community a co-op fosters. Mrs. Gibbs is awesome. My son loves "his" school.
The Co-op is rewarding for both child and parent. Parents have the opportunity to experience the classroom first-hand by working alongside the teacher, enabling them to see their child in the social setting while at the same time forming a community with the other children and their parents. The school has been in operation for over thirty years in the Lakes Area. The teacher attended Lollipop with her own children before becoming employed 25 years ago. She is an excellent asset to the school!
