My son was 2 years old when he started there and he learned so much from Lucy and his friends at the playgroup. I like that it's very homey and small classes, it's the ideal for the first step to preschool. I love the fact that they go outside for a little bit and that the playgroup is until 1pm so that they can eat lunch together. That way my son learned that vegetables is pretty tasty and that cleaning up can be fun. They learn so much but foremost they're having fun and I can really tell how much my son love his friends there. Lucy is very caring and understanding towards the children but she's also there for the mothers. Whenever I had a concern I could talk to her and she was a major help in getting my son potty-trained. I wished my son could stay there longer but it's only for pre-K and I am so grateful for Lucy. I would highly recommend this!

My daughter attended Lucy's when she was 2 and was not quite ready for preschool. I cannot say enough about Lucy and what my daughter gained there. She had fun, learned how to be an independent little person in the group, made lots of art projects and friends. She still talks about her time there almost 2 years later. It was a great starting point for her prior to real preschool. We adore Lucy. She has a wonderful sense for children and we will be forever thankful for finding her playgroup.

Lucy has a wonderful way with children and helps them to feel comfortable in her playgroup right away. They learn how to socialize and to eat healthy foods such as apples. They get exercise in the park and make lots of friends. We have been very happy with this program.

We relocated from England last year and were worried about the unsettling effect it would have on our children, especially our oldest son Max. We needn't have worried as after we discovered Lucy and her wonderful group everything fell into place. The warm, nuturing, interactive, fun environment provides the perfect transition from home to school and creates happy, confident, polite children. Max will come home and break into nursery rhymes, numbers, shapes, the alphabet and many more things which are all credit to Lucy! Highest recommendation!

My 2yo boy goes to Lucys and loves it there. Lucy is very calm and gentle with the toddlers and they learn to interact together, play, and do projects in a caring homelike environment. I really wanted him to be part of a small group of kids and to feel special. My son is going two mornings a week and loves it. I also like the way they go to Riverside Park every day. Its a cool little adventure for their developing minds.

Louise went to Lucy's playgroup as soon as she turned 2, and loved it from day one. I was told about anxiety separation...well thanks to Lucy's very warm house and welcome, it didn't happen ! This place is a perfect place for any child to start socializing with other kids, and it's a great schedule for parents. Lucy keeps them busy with lots of short activites well suited for their age : they sing, play, draw, make birthday hats and cookies, go for a walk in the park, and always spend time as a small group where they learn to know each other and get all the attention they need. Lucy has also a wonderful personality and will make you soon want to go back to PreK... stay with them and bake cookies too !

Lucy's has been such a wonderful experience for our family. I have three children and I so wish I had known about Lucy's for the first two!! I stumbled across her when my son was turning two, went to visit, and fell in love with her relaxed, calm yet in-charge and loving demeanor immediately. Lucy takes the kids outside every day for an hour of playtime in the park, she cooks for them (and often has them help her!), she sings with them and plays with them -- in short, she's wonderful! My son has a very hard time separating but he LOVES to go to "Miss Lucy's." He adores Lucy and loves spending time with all his friends there. We had a deposit down for a more traditional playschool for the current school year but after 9 months of just two mornings a week at Lucy's I realized I was much happier with my son there than I would be at the other playschool. So we switched to three days a week and stayed put and I wouldn't change it for the world. Lucy's is extremely reasonable, but even if it were the most expensive place in town I'd send my kids there. Bravo!!

...was a big part of our lives for almost five years as both our boys spent time there. They both loved it and our oldest was actually envious of the youngest who got to go to Lucy's when he had to go to school! Our youngest was there from age 2 to 4 and varied during that time from one to four days per week and from the youngest in the group to the oldest and yet somehow the activities were always interesting to him and always seemed age-appropriate to us. Lucy combines inside play with outdoor time (outdoors everyday, which we loved) along with crafts, and singing, and reading. The atmosphere is unglamourous, comfortable, and loving. A real home... and the kids respond well to that. Lucy is a wise and warm caregiver/teacher who really cares about the growth of the children in the group and she tries to foster a real community amongst the parents. We consider ourselves lucky for having found Lucy's Playgroup!

My daughter loved Lucy and Lucy's playgroup. Lucy provides a great combination of organized activities and individual play. Most days I had a hard time getting my daughter to leave when I picked her up! Highly Recommended.

Lucy's playgroup was a blessing for my 2 year old when I brought home an infant. It gave him the chance to get out and make some friends and I got 4 hours alone with my new baby! Now that baby is 2 and she is going to Lucy's. Lucy has been great helping my daughter separate for the first time. Lucy is perceptive, flexible and warm. Can't recommend Lucy's playgroup enough.

I sent both of my children to Lucy's playgroup when they turned 2 and they stayed until they started preschool. It is a great introduction to sharing and separation. Neither of my children had trouble with starting school after their experiences with Lucy. Lucy is very nurturing and patient, she even changes diapers and helps toddlers with struggles like potty training. Even though the physical site is not fancy, she makes up for it with her genuine involvement with the little ones. Also, Lucy is much more flexible with hours and days than any other organized program I found.

Lucy's is one of the best things I did for my daughter (age 2-3). It's what she misses most about NYC since we moved away. She still talks about it and all her friends there. Lucy provides an engaging, stimulating, patient and loving environment for the children, as well as several hours of free time for parents. It's a great way to socialize your toddler, as well as provide a break for you. Lucy made my daughter's transition to nursery school so easy. And you can't beat the price!
