LILA, Lycee International de Los Angeles is a French American school founded in 1978; note that it is a different school entirely from
Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, which also has multiple campuses around LA.
LILA seeks to graduate students who are bilingual and can achieve college acceptance and success both in Europe and the United States. The curriculum has its foundations in the philosophies of the French educational system, combined with the heart of the American system and its nurturing of the individual.
The program spans from pre-K through 12th grade (French Bac and International Baccalaureate). Students at LILA are taught to read, write, and speak both French and English by the end of their elementary education, but prior knowledge of French is not necessary. The school is triple accredited : WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), French Ministry of education, and International Baccalaureate Organization.
