Magers & Quinn is heaven for frugal bibliophiles. It's the kind of place one might expect to find wizened, scholarly old men wandering between the rows of high shelves, but patrons of all ages are greeted with open arms here.

The store offers plenty of familiar titles in the large children's section at the back of the store, and parents can also have a great time browsing for lesser-known works - perhaps even stumbling onto long-forgotten favorites from their own childhoods. The selection of hard-bound story and religious anthologies is particularly good. Gift certificates, and online and phone ordering are available, and the store occasionally hosts special events for families.

Magers & Quinn's buys quality new, used, and out-of-stock books which are still in demand, including collectible editions. Paperbacks should be in nearly-new condition. Its buyers decide on books during store hours, but bring items in Mon-Sat 10am-5pm for the promptest service. Be sure to have a valid picture ID with you, or payment can't be made.
