Parents' Picks quest to find the
Best Family-Friendly Restaurant in DC,
Maggiano's Little Italy dishes up surprisingly good Italian fare for a chain restaurant. The menu is vast, and so are the portions. Diners are given the option of family-style portions or regular, but even the regular ones are huge. The three adults in our party were hard pressed to finish one appetizer salad! Fortunately everything is good, and there are lots of options, from traditional spaghetti with meatballs to braised beef cannelloni to salmon sherry piccata. And - not that you'll have room - but the dessert menu is packed with delicious choices too. Kids are welcomed here, with their own menu featuring numerous pastas, chicken fingers, grilled chicken, and pizza. The menu is printed with activities and comes with crayons to help keep restless ones occupied. High chairs and booster seats are readily available. As the dining rooms are also vast, the noise level is high, kids are everywhere, and families can enjoy a nice meal without worrying if their own children are too loud. Numerous banquet rooms are available for private parties, and carryout service is just a phone call away.
